Is there anyone out there who has tried xyrem for alpha intrusion sleep disorder?
For years I have not slept w/o awakening many times during the night. Sleep study indicates no stage 3 or 4 sleep with constant alpha wave intrusions. This drug was ok'd for narcolepsy/cataplexy. I have fibromyalgia. There are 2 clinic trials for this as well with some positive results. I would love to speak or hear from anyone with this type of history. Thanks |

No, I haven't tried it, but I'm very interested in it simply because of reading so much about it. If you try it, would you mind letting me know how you do on it and if you have any side effects, etc.? I have fibro, too. I currently take temazepam and it works very well for me, but it's not covered by insurance. It's cheap as far as meds go, but I'm poor. Thanks! Oh! As far as that type of history, I've never done a sleep study, but for years I, too, woke up many times throughout the night and had very active "movie" dreams. I would wake up feeling more tired than if I hadn't slept at all. I also have restless legs syndrome. One reason I take temazepam is because I don't have the "movie" dreams and it takes care of the RLS. If I'm not totally stressing out, it does give me a full nights sleep. If I'm stressed and freaking out, noises that I usually sleep through will wake me up early. Feel free to email me if you want. Take care.
