It's still TBD for exactly what we will do at our meeting. But I do know it's important for us to get together and raise awareness of our sleeping habits.

On a grand scale, I would like to work towards better accommodation, awareness and tolerance for our needs.

Our world is programmed to be so politically correct now, tolerant and encouraging of all differences. Yet (not to be overdramatic) we are still "victims" :) of negative comments when we come in late for work, and worse, no matter how well we produce, etc!

======================================================================

I understand I cast a wide net in the Bay Area, finding members from San Jose to Sacramento! Although I LOVE the idea of scheduling a meeting at 11pm on a weeknight--just cuz we can--I realize that if you are already struggling to get up in the morning for work, this won't help! Though at least you'll be doing something more interesting than lying in bed, eyes wide open, staring at your ceiling, waiting to fall asleep :) That being said, we should probably discuss doing a weekend meeting and figure out the best time for everyone. If you can't make it, pls post a note with your preferred days/times.

Thanks
Ali

    Thank you everyone for coming! It's was wonderful to meet you all. I loved hearing everyones unique stories and interests. Next time, I'll make an agenda, bring some more info, invite others to do the same (as Alex so graciously did!) and add some discussion groups, as it's a little difficult to have a free-for-all discussion with more than a couple people.

    Hi, I was thinking about this all of you when the roofers started banging at 8AM one day last week and laughed at me when I went out there to say, "Hey, nobody told me about this!"

    I'd like to meet, but definitely prefer something like a Sunday afternoon or early evening, or week day evening. I'm self-employed, so I'm flexible. Typically I sleep from 3, 3:30am--10:30 or 11am. But I don't encessarily go out into the night just because I'm awake!

    Shouldn't we have a breakfast meeting so we're all looking and feeling our best? :-D I'll bring a bunch of my CDs and give a free copy to everyone who attends. It's instrumental piano, all my own original compositions.

    I don't have a job so what day/night you pick doesn't effect me in that respect. I have other activities that may preclude my attending.
